Jackie is Backie!

My sweet boy is back from a week-long vacation with his other grandma. He's so sick though with a horrible cold. Poor baby just wants to be held, which is okay with me since I didn't get to for such a long time.

Temple Square - Thanksgiving Weekend

M, K, and I decided to not ride the Frontrunner to Salt Lake (since we aren't good at figuring out the departure times). We drove down to see the Joseph Smith movie at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. Matt and I had seen it years ago with the youth, but K was just a baby then. She really loved it! After the movie, we walked around Temple Square for about an hour until the Christmas lights came on. It didn't seem like they had as many out this year, but it was still cool! From there, we had dinner at Costa Vida - always delish!

Thanksgiving's Out - Christmas Is In!

We took down all of the Thanksgiving decorations yesterday and Kayleigh was so excited to help put up the Christmas ones. She did a great job decorating our house! Grandma Wood made her a Christmas countdown thing with a bunch of mittens hanging on a clothesline. Each mitten has a treat in it. She can't wait until December 1st to start checking them out!
Later today, we're venturing to Salt Lake on the Frontrunner, going to attempt to see the new Joseph Smith movie, and see the lights on Temple Square.

My Little Pilgrim/Indian

Kayleigh made these at school this week. She was much more cooperative about wearing them than she was last year in preschool. Maybe because she wasn't the only girl this time.

(That's a papoose on the back!)

Refrigerator Art!

Turkey Dinner!

(Sing to the tune of "Where is Thumpkin?)
Turkey dinner, turkey dinner,
Gather round, gather round,
Who will get the drumstick? Who will get the wishbone?
All sit down, all sit down.

We recently learned this cute song in Primary. Jaxon rubs his tummy during the "turkey dinner" part. Such a cutie!

We're going to miss him. He's gone out of town with Travis' mom for a WEEK! We're praying that he comes back intact.

That Darn Cat!

My dear, sweet Jaxon has come over around 4:30am the past two days. I've been sleeping in Kayleigh's bed so Tara can just put him in bed with me and not disturb the other two. It's been fine, but a little while ago, I started feeling a nap coming on. Jaxon is gone, Kayleigh is watching a movie, so I went to lie down on my bed. There's a great big wet spot on it!
Now, to back up in our day a little...K and I took Darcie to get her nails cut. They were like mongo fish hooks and I couldn't put it off any longer. The last time we took her, she clawed her way out of her cardboard cat box, so this time she sat in the back on a leash with K. D crawled under the passenger seat and rode there to her manicurist. When we got there, I couldn't get her out. I seriously think she was stuck and had to force her head out from the front.
Anyway, she was pretty traumatized by that on top of getting her nails done.
Now I'm ready for that nap and go to lie down in my bed and get all snuggly warm and there's a HUGE pee spot right in the middle...through the afghan, comforter, sheets and all over the mattress cover (thank goodness we invested in that when we got our new mattress last year!!). What a bugger that was getting it off the bed by myself.
I'm hoping she was just stressed out and not angry at me over her unfortunate ordeal. I mean, it's not MY fault she has a big head.
I'm blaming Matt for all of this. He should have held fast and not let us talk him in to getting her in the first place.  If you can't find us tonight, we'll be at the Holiday Inn.

Shopping Woes

Oh my. Christmas shopping is such a struggle sometimes. I have no ideas at all for two of my kids and they aren't helping any. Usually, I have a few things in mind and their list is "just in case." This time, no ideas, no lists being provided. Then there's my husband who just wants money (for a golf trip he's planning), but...BORING!!!!

Back in Business

Matt, Kayleigh and I so enjoyed looking over our old blog last night! Of course, 99% of it was about Kayleigh (and probably will be again - with some Jaxon thrown in for good measure). I mean, Matt and I are a little more boring and a lot less interesting to read about.
I wanted to just start up our old blog since there's so much on it, but I can't for the life of me remember my sign-in information. It was some obscure gmail account that I never used as I always stayed signed in to the blog. Oh well, at least we can still look at that one.
What I decided I like about blogging is that it's on the internet. Twice we've had computers crash and lost everything on our hard drives...including my journals. No, I'm not smart enough, even after them crashing twice, to back up my info elsewhere. This way it's out there in cyberspace...and safe?
