Grandma and Grandpa Hales invited us to see some new baby pygmy goats that belong to their friends, Susan and Max. They were so cute and I think we've almost convinced Matt to get us a couple! (I want the little brown one!) The rain was kind enough to hold off while we were there, so we got to play with them for a little while. After the goats, we went to lunch at Cafe Rio and also celebrated Kayleigh finishing kindergarten. She didn't "graduate" per se, but we are really proud of how well she did this year. Her last report card was again all 4's (A+'s in her school's grading). We wanted to do a little something to congratulate her, so got her some balloons, some mini cupcakes and a Bey Blade (basically a top with a rip cord) which she's been talking about for the last week or so.

A Day to Remember
Today was Kayleigh's last day of kindergarten. I can't believe it's over already and my big girl is going to be in school all day soon. I have already planned so many fun activities for "K and J's Summer of Fun 2012!" Unfortunately, it will make the summer go by too fast.
Today was Field Day and we had to be there at 8am. I am on the Student Celebrations Committee (and am actually going to be the chair for it next year) and Field Day falls under that. So, I was there the whole time helping. K had to stay with her class so I only saw her when she came to play the game I was in charge of. The theme was Around the World in 80 Days and we had eight stations with games from different countries. I was assigned Jamaica. We played a game called S-T-O-P. Really easy, passing wet sponges while in a circle. A firetruck was supposed to come at the end of the day and spray the kids with water, but they got called away to an emergency. The kids were all very disappointed, but what do you do?
After school, Sidney and Shannon were outside learning to ride their bikes without training wheels. Of course, Kayleigh then wanted to do the same. She had asked me to take them off last year, but I never did (because I didn't want to have to run behind her holding her up on the bike). I took them off and only had to help her about three times and then she figured it out for herself. All three girls were riding like they've been doing it for years after a few hours. They all caught on so quickly! It was a great way to start off our SofF!

K's and J's Pre-Summer of Fun 2012
We made a huge splash pad for all the kids to play on with plastic sheeting and duct tape. It didn't hold up very well and took FOREVER to fill with water. The kids had a great time for about 45 minutes, though!
