Oh My...

Yesterday Kayleigh was so tired after school. Tired = Emotional. As she was getting out of the car, she said, "Oh no! Please tell me you didn't get a new purse!" I said that I did and got out of the car to go in the house. After a minute or so when she didn't follow me in, I went back to check on her. She was sitting in the car sobbing. She wouldn't tell me what was wrong. I kept asking her, "What Happened?" "Did you get hurt?" "Talk to me." She finally said, "I don't want you to get a new purse! I really, really love your old one!" OH MY GOSH!

Cat Bed

Kayleigh made Darcie a "cat bed" today down in the basement out of a bunch of pillows and blankets. It's up on top of the boxes of food storage and a tote. She thinks she wants to sleep down there tonight - no heat - supposed to be 16 degrees tonight. Sure, why not? I know it won't really happen. Anyway, she decided to stay down there until the boys come over for dinner (about a two-hour wait). I just went down to check on her and she's sacked out on the tote all snuggly under some blankets. I just hope she doesn't roll off and land in the litter box!

Thinking Ahead

This is totally going to be Jaxon for Halloween this year!

Jaxon's First Day

We took Jaxon into the nursery at church yesterday for the first time. I set him on the floor and when they opened the partition that was hiding all the toys, he headed right for it and didn't give me a second thought. He did really well in there according to the nursery workers. He had sucked down a whole sippy cup of milk during Sacrament Meeting though, so his clothes were soaked through when church was over. I'm guessing he was just playing the whole time and no one realized he needed his diaper changed. I'm glad he had a fun time. He looked wiped out when we left.

A Short Story Long

For Christmas, I got Matt a drawing of Lou Gehrig and Joe DiMaggio. The company who I bought it from sent a coupon the other day along with a hand-written note from someone named Beth saying she hoped we were enjoying the picture. Nice of her (whoever she is), I know, but I thought it was really quite unprofessional (in my opinion) - "Love, Beth" including a heart by her name. Who does that? Anyway, I found the paper on the kitchen table with another note on the back - one Kayleigh had written:

Dear Beth
Thank you for the card.
Love, Kristen (with a heart and heart balloons)

Silly girl!

Back to Normal

Kayleigh is so excited to go back to school today that she was up and dressed before 7:00 (school doesn't start until noon). Normally, though she really likes school, I have to coerce her into getting ready. I usually start around 11:00 as she likes to lolly gag quite a bit. Not today!

Valentine's Day

Kayleigh said she was going to fix me dinner in bed tonight (for Valentine's Day) - eggs or grits. Yum!
